Position

Waterford is currently looking for On-site Supervisors to join the company. We are seeking experienced, organized, people-oriented, leaders who can manage and motivate a team of cleaners to deliver a high quality of service for our customers.

On-site Supervisors report to the Area Manager.

Primary Role
Facilitates the smooth operation of the building to agreed upon standards and service levels by supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in janitorial services.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of cleaners
• Train new employees, monitor and retrain existing staff
• Direct employees’ strict adherence to prescribed cleaning techniques, security requirements and health & safety practices
• Assist with coordination of work of cleaners by assigning, scheduling and overseeing the completion of work
• Ensure quality control by inspecting work in progress and upon completion
• Determine appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools and equipment needed to accomplish job
• Monitor inventory levels for chemicals and minor equipment
• Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals, inspect doors, windows and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened
• Observe appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; report needed repair, safety hazards, or conditions requiring attention or assistance
• Maintain records as required
• Communicate issues to Area Manager to ensure quick resolution
• Carry out other duties that may be reasonably required

Qualifications

• Leadership and people management skills
• Good communicator; ability to communicate in English
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to positively motivate their team
• Strong training skills for teaching employees to perform various cleaning procedures and use equipment properly
• Good judgment
• Good physical condition to meet the demands of the job
• Responsible and punctual
• Good knowledge of health & safety, WHMIS  and MSDS
• Ability to recruit other workers an asset
• Previous experience as an o-site supervisor an asset
