Position

Waterford is currently looking for Light Duty Cleaners to join the company. We are seeking reliable, motivated, team-players who can complete their tasks in a timely manner. Cleaners work on-site at one of the many Waterford locations.

Light Duty Cleaning staff report to the On-site Supervisor and/or the Area Manager.

Primary Role
Following well-defined procedures, methods and practices the Light Duty Cleaner will perform and oversee a variety of janitorial, custodial and/or security tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
• Clean and maintain floors/stairwells – sweep, mop and vacuum
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Service and clean restrooms, and replenish all dispensers
• Monitor building safety and security
• Police building exterior
• Move equipment and supplies
• Notify supervision concerning the need for repairs
• Monitor supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
• Clean and polish furniture and fixture
• Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment
• Ensure Health and Safety Policy is adhered to at all times
• Change lights to a maximum of 10 feet
• Carry out other duties that may be reasonably required

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, or similar
• Able to take direction and then work with minimal supervision
• Good physical condition to meet the demands of the job – bend, reach and stand for extended periods of time
• Responsible, punctual and people-oriented
• General knowledge of health & safety, WHMIS  and MSDS an asset
• Able to arrange transportation to and from job site
• Ability to communicate in English
